An overlooked concrete undercroft at Kelvin Grove College was transformed into a vibrant sports and recreation space inspired by the Australian botanical landscape.

Artcourts developed a series of creative directions for the school, with a botanical theme selected as the foundation for the space. The design brought colour, movement and native flora across the courts, creating an immersive environment for sport and recreation.

Artist Arina Apostolova helped bring the artwork to life on the court, while Shmick extended the visual language onto the surrounding walls with complementing murals.

The result is a space where art, nature and sport come together — giving students a vibrant place to move, explore and connect.
