Maddern Square was transformed into a colourful skate and basketball space designed to bring play and personality into the heart of the Footscray community.

Created by artist Olana Janfa, the artwork is full of playful characters and unexpected details — from DJ ducks to a skating banana — giving the space a distinctive sense of fun and identity.

Artcourts worked alongside Olana to bring the artwork to life, with the local community following the transformation as the space took shape.

The result is a place made for creativity and connection, part basketball court, part skate space and entirely Footscray.
